About This Trip

Elm Wildlife Tours' pelagic trips from Dunedin venture into the productive subantarctic waters of the southeastern South Island, one of New Zealand's richest seabird areas. The Otago shelf waters and Bounty Trough region attract large numbers of albatrosses (Northern and Southern Royal, Antipodean, Gibson's, Campbell, and Buller's), petrels, shearwaters, and diving petrels. Dunedin is also home to the world's only mainland Royal Albatross colony at Taiaroa Head, making it the premier albatross destination on the South Island.
