San Diego Offshore Pelagic

H&M Landing's offshore pelagic trips run from San Diego into the California Current system, targeting the warm-water incursions that push Tropical seabirds north in late summer and fall. These trips are famous for producing rare and exciting species including Least, Black, and Least Storm-petrels, Black-vented Shearwaters, Elegant Terns, and vagrant tropical seabirds when warm El Niño conditions prevail. The San Diego area offers excellent access to both the nearshore California Current and warmer offshore eddies.
