United Kingdom

The United Kingdom sits at the crossroads of the warm North Atlantic Drift and cold subpolar water masses, creating some of the most productive seabird waters in Europe. Scotland's North Minch concentrates shearwaters and skuas during spring and autumn passage, while the remote Western Isles hold the world's largest Manx Shearwater colonies and Britain's most significant Leach's Storm-Petrel colonies. Dedicated pelagic trips operate from the NW Scottish coast from April through September, targeting Sooty and Great Shearwaters, all four skua species, European Storm-Petrel, and the full suite of Atlantic seabirds that pass through British waters.
